Teaching Statement 

Teaching dance is both a privilege and a great honor.

As a teacher I encourage self reflection, resiliency, and intrinsic motivation within my students to create a student-centered environment.

I address topics of self-management and communication through partner activities, group work, and student choice.

At the core of my teaching efforts is the recognition of the knowledge students already possess as valuable in their learning and the learning of others.

The role of the teacher serves as both a guide to facilitate the sharing of information and a cheerleader for student inspiration.
